Punjabi and Sikh people finally have the opportunity to watch programs in their mother tongue with the launch of a dedicated Sikh channel on Sky digital 840 and the perceived arrival of Punjjabi TV coming on air as early as Monday next week

Punjjabi TV has released programming information in preparation to its launch on Monday 20th April in the UK and US. In the UK, the channel will broadcast on Sky Digital EPG 838.
Punjjabi TV's primetime will be drama-heavy with 'Chadhya Chann Samundron Paar' starting at 18:30, followed by 'Dil Diya Gallan Dil Hee Jaane', then 'Raano' at 19:30. 'Agg De Kalirrey' will air at 20:00, followed by 'Chandigarh Campus' at 20:30. A daily laugh-out riot show called 'Punjabi Classic Comedies', which will feature memorable funny clips from Punjabi films and shows. Another drama 'Eh Mera Punjab' will occupy the 21:30 band during the week.
A 90-minute playlisted music show will takeover the 22:00 - 23:30 weekday slot featuring Bhangra and Folk Punjabi tracks.
Punjabi News will air four times per day - 08:00, 12:30, 18:00 and 23:30.
Religious Sikh shows will broadcast daily between 06:00 - 08:00. A mythological programme called 'Jai Mata Di' will occupy the early morning 05:00 slot.
The channel will broadcast new and old Punjabi movies at the weekend at 13:00.
Both The Sikh Channel and Punjjabi channel will give unrivaled ZEE Punjabi a run for their money.
ZEE last week announced the end of its radio and will be axing the Gujarati channel, according to Bizasia.
