Halqa Qila Raipur, This month started with the Vidhan Sabha Budget Session as soon as I returned from a trip to the USA. There have been a lot of activities, including constituency visits with Manish Tewari MP, visit from the Minister of State for Rural Development Ms Agatha Sangma and much more. I then left for the USA at the end of March to meet NRIs and also attend the wedding of Sukhvir, daughter of Major Singh Deol from Fresno.
I would like to thank everyone (including my team who worked so incredibly hard on all the arrangements) for their immense support at Khatkar Kalan on 23 March for the State-wide rally marking the martyrdom day of S. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. It was a very successful day and there’s a full story on it further into this e-newsletter.
This month saw us celebrate International Women’s Day with Women Entrepreneurs at every Community Dairy Unit, and receive a visit from India’s youngest female Minister, Ms Agatha Sangma. I also had the pleasure of addressing students of Khalsa College for Women on their Annual Awards Day. More about all of these things below.
I would also request all of you to sign and ask others to sign the petition I have put online regarding the respectful treatment of turbans at international security checkpoints. To sign the petition, please click here. If you can post it on your social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter it would be greatly appreciated. We need to put all our voices together on this one and call loudly for proper respect of the turban.
