Intervention in Libya by Great Britain, France and US

by Simranjit Singh Mann. The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has always felt that liberated Western democracies who are committed to the rule of law and the principles of natural justice have the unbridled rights to intervene in internal conflicts where dictatorial or democratic regimes in power through overwhelming religious voting majorities come to power and terrorise their people and commit the crime of genocide against the people whose welfare and well-being is their responsibility, morally, politically and by international covenants, treaties and protocols as spelled out by the UN Human Rights Commission.

The will of the people in legislatures where there are brutal religious majorities does not appeal to our party the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar). If this were true then Parliaments with religious majorities would have legitimate powers and authority to commit the crime of genocide of its minorities, in this case the Sikh’s within THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State).

When such ruthless regimes fail and violate these well-laid principles then it becomes the duty of Western democracies, NATO and UN Security Council to intervene in conditions where Human Rights are being violated with impunity and the innocent populace becomes the target of the abominable crime of genocide. Our party thinks that all these conditions are rife in countries like Libya, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Tunisia, Jordan and Oman.

We have read Russia’s objection to the intervention of the Western democracies in Libya, which states that the Western democracies are intervening in Libya like the crusaders in the times of King Richard  (  ). Such allegations only give rise to Muslim emotions, which in the present context is not true. The second allegation is that Western democracies are after the oil wealth of Libya and other Arab states. Perhaps this may be true to a certain extent but then it is for the Arab’s to see that their populations are not massacred by the forces of dictators who owe responsibility to none, are a law unto themselves and resort to drastic steps to destroy dissent and grievances of their people.

What our party has learnt of the wide spread dissent in the Arab world is that the despots in these countries use terror to keep their people under their jackboots, commit horrendous Human Right violations, are corrupt to the core, both monetarily and morally, allow no dissent through elected bodies and are living in medieval times.

The old order has to change whether the Arab’s are Muslim’s and keep faith in their own moral and religious codes. As far as secularism is concerned in these countries, it is suppressed with a heavy hand whether within Islam there are two cults – Shia’s and Sunni’s. Like non-Muslim’s if the state is Shia, Sunni’s are condemned to hell and vice versa. Other religious minorities are not tolerated either.

On the other hand, though Islamic Pakistan is not in the Arab world, our party feels that it has dealt with the minority Sikh population with a liberal and even hand. For the upkeep and maintenance of the Sikh religious shrines within its borders, it has officially constituted a Pakistan Shiromani Gurudwara Committee, which is elected in the same manner as in THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State). Apart from this Islamic Pakistan has brought on to its legal statutes the 1909 legislated Anand Marriage Act, whereby upon marriage the Sikh’s receive a certificate under this act in this Islamic state. On the other hand in THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) the 1909 Anand Marriage Act has not been brought on to the statute book and Sikh’s upon marriage in this Hindu state receive a state certificate under the Hindu Marriage Act and in civil legal cases Sikh’s receive justice under the Hindu Code Bill. THIS's (Theocratic Hindu Indian State's) Constitution; Article 25 states that the Sikh’s are a part of the Hindu religion. All this is anathema to the Sikh’s who have always been under a rebellious state since the creation of the Hindu state in 1947.

Now we come to the question why THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) opposes military intervention and the No Fly Zones imposed by Great Britain, France and US. The fact is that THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) opposes foreign intervention in the internal affairs of a country for the very reason that the Hindu state commits the same crimes against humanity as the Arab states. Therefore, it would not agree to foreign intervention in the Arab states. It has to guard its under-belly.

The Sikh’s have been the subject of the perpetration of the crime of genocide by THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State). Their linguistic rights have also been taken away though Articles 345-347 state that the Sikh’s wherever they form a minority like in the states Haryana, UP, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarkhand, UT Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu Kashmir etc. are entitled to study and learn their native language Panjabi in the Gurmukhi script. Our party has seen that Sikh’s residing in these Hindu majority states have not got their rights under these Articles of the Constitution and perforce have to study in Hindi in the Devnagri script which is totally unacceptable and much like Turkey which does not allow its Kurdish minority to learn their native language, so much so, that Kurdish Members of Parliament are not allowed to speak in their native tongue in Parliament.

The other enforcement by Great Britain, France and US in Libya, that of a No Fly Zone in Libya is not palatable to THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) because it has its own skeletons in the cupboard to hide. Having committed the genocide of the Sikh peoples and our demand for a No Fly Zone over Sikh inhabited territories in Panjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UT Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir is a relevant point why the Hindu state opposes a No Fly Zone over Libya. The entire THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) Parliament is in unanimity with the decision of the Hindu Union government in Delhi, which opposes intervention in Libya and the order of a No Fly Zone there is simple to perceive. The Parliament by an overwhelming majority is composed of Hindu’s and as such the Hindu state naturally would want to have no intervention lest such a precedent is created for the imposition of these steps on THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) because of its cruelty and the commission of the crime of genocide on the Sikh peoples.

We do hope the Western democracies would not be concerned with the dissent of THIS (Theocratic Hindu Indian State) as it has its own axe to grind wherever foreign interventions become a necessity to save hapless populations from crimes against humanity, war crimes and the perpetration of the crime of genocide. And our party seriously thinks that it is about time that Western democracies began to feel the need to address the commission of the crime of genocide of the Sikh peoples. As a beginning the American Congress, British Parliament and the French National Assembly could well pass resolutions against these crimes against the Sikh peoples in their respective legislatures.
